From 2014 Health [e] Foundation in partnership with Rinda Ubuzima trained nurses, midwives and Community Health Workers through the Female and Family [e] Education program funded by Merck for Mothers. The program was launched with the aim of strengthening the capacity of nurses, midwives and community health workers on how to provide quality maternal and newborn care, ultimately contributing to reducing maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity. The Female & Family [e] Education program was accredited in 2016 by the Rwandan midwives’ association. Within this program 250 midwives and 1,330 CHWs have been trained to provide quality maternal and neonatal healthcare services and information to the communities they serve.
In 2020 and 2021, Health [e] Foundation in partnership with Rinda ubuzima , provided trainings to the community health worker in charge on two main programs Corona[e]education and health[e]community.
The health [e] community program consists of:
- modules on Ebola - Safe sex - Reproductive health education,
- healthy nutrition - STIs - Communication skills,
- Healthy body - Reaching out to adolescent.
Up to now, 270 community health workers in charges have been trained on these two programs in Rwanda.
Health [e] Foundation is a Netherlands-based organization, it operates from different countries, Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Suriname. Health e foundation aims at strengthening health care systems and communities globally through digital health education. In Rwanda health e foundation have provided trainings to health professionals across the country using a blended e-learning approach, consisting of a combination of face-to-face workshops and a self-study period with e-learning modules. E-learning modules are hosted on Health [e] Foundation’s Moodle learning platform and are available online and after an initial download offline without the use of the internet.
